TLC Camp and the Lilac Princess Programs as explained above.
We hold one major fundraiser each year to support our philanthropic efforts, with several smaller fundraisers as needed.  Our largest donations go to TLC Camp, Humanitarian Services Project Adopt a Senior Program, Local Families in Need, Northeast DuPage Special Recreation Association (NEDSRA), Illinois Leadership Conference, Sandwiches for Veterans, and Thanksgiving Baskets for local families.
GFWC ~It’s a Volunteer Thing!
In 2006, GFWC and its members raised nearly $32 million on behalf of more than 230,000 projects, and volunteered more than 8.4 million hours.
We have a great time and if you’re looking to give something back
to the community while making new friends—Lombard Juniors is the
place for you!

The Lombard Junior Woman’s Club was established in 1930 as an affiliate organization for the teenaged daughters of members of the Lombard Woman’s Club.  In 1950, the club reorganized.  State rules indicated that members of a Junior club had to be 18-35 years of age, or they should join a Woman’s Club.  The ladies organized a new club “The Lombard Service League” to continue to have their own group and when the Junior Club rules changed upping the age limit to 40, the Lombard Junior Woman’s Club was reestablished.  These age restrictions have since been abolished.

In the beginning, we presented plays to fund our causes, such as assisting the orphan children of the Bensenville Home, Scholarships, and Lombard welfare work.  Over the years, our major fundraiser has been a fashion show.

In 2008, we are trying something new called “Bistros of the ‘Burbs.’”

We donate funds to a multitude of causes, including local food pantries, Family Shelter, Sandwiches for Vets to name a few.  We sponsor the local “Lilac Princess Program,” a scholarship program for young women ages 16-21.  The Princess Program has been a time honored tradition in our community since 1930, and we are honored to sponsor it.

Our signature project is TLC Camp, a camp for children with cancer and a sibling.  This began in 1983, with 11 campers and has grown to over 100 children each summer.
History
Situated in DuPage County, the Village of Lombard is a community with much to offer. From our history as the Lilac Village to our involvement in the Lombard Character Counts! Coalition,
the Village is striving to form partnerships in the community
to better serve our residents.
